December 22nd, 2009
I met and photographed Angela and her hubbie over Thanksgiving day weekend. They have been patiently waiting for a peek at their photos and finally I can deliver. The last two weeks have been full of surprises at Casa a la Gaffney/Waters (no nanny for a few days and Ty has been sick with a virus and acid reflux – good times). I’m trying to get a few final things out the door today before I take a blog break for a week or so to enjoy the holiday, because I believe someone mentioned Christmas arrives on Friday right?
These two are expecting a baby boy. They were so natural with each other, very sweet and cuddly. You could tell they are counting down the minutes until the little one arrives. I wish you two all the best and look forward to meeting your newest addition in 2010. Thank you for a wonderful shoot.

So I’ve come across quite a few new and fun camera related gadgets. I’m trying to restrain from buying them all for myself at once but that doesn’t mean you can’t purchase one or two for yourself.
I admit, I did break down and bought the Fuji Instax Mini Camera (thanks Tara!) and the Diana Dreamy Lens both from Photojojo. Can’t wait til they arrive on my doorstep! The rest will have to wait. Hint hint Santa. : )

The Double Shot Camera also from the super cool Photojojo website.

I asked for this from my Secret Santa. Dying to get my hands on some film in 2010. I’m going to eat Ty and Conner up with this little camera, the Diana. An oldie but goodie.

How about another oldie, the Holga, but now offered in a funky bright color like PINK?!

OR do you need a new pretty and fashionable camera bag? I cant wait to wrap my hands on one of these gorgeous bags from Daily Relish next year and am counting down the days until they are available.

Or maybe you like the Kelly Moore Bag?

And if you dont own a Shootsac by now, then it’s definitely time to grab one.

The Lumix Panasonic point and shoot. I want this so I dont have to lug around my SLR all the time. Heard the quality is superb.

And the next step up, the Lumix GFI1 which offers Video! Yummmm…. Drooling over this.

If you dont own the FLIP yet, your in big trouble. We own this although I haven’t used this nearly enough. My in-laws gave us the underwater case, another item on my list that must get more use in 2010.

And of course the almighty, the new Canon 5D Mark II. Dreaming of this little lady. Hopefully she will land in my little paws some day soon.

arrives I will leave you with a few photos from the fall of Ty and Conner. We are starting our Christmas shopping, visiting Moomah (cant wait!) in the city, going to dinner with friends and celebrating our 6th wedding anniversary on Sunday. Busy. Stay warm – it’s in the twenties here.
Please note, there are no photos of them together because Conner refuses to sit next to Ty when my camera is involved.

The Smith girls were very silly. Lots of joking around, especially once Maya warmed up. We played a little red light, green light, ran around the park, had a quick wardrobe change and took advantage of the gorgeous fall foliage. Thank you Smiths for a wonderful shoot. It was wonderful to meet you!

Love this family. Love that mom and dad didn’t freak when Jacob had little interest in posing and Lucy decided to keep all of her smiles to herself. My children are the same exact age as the Egan’s so I was pretty prepared although sometimes you have little control. If you wonder why I have not shown any photos of Conner and Ty together well, it’s because Conner refuses to pose with Tyler. REFUSES. It drives me NUTS. We took our Xmas photos on 5 SEPARATE occasions, not kidding – 5, before I got one photo I was somewhat ok with. These ages, toddler and a baby, are the toughest to get a photo of together, unless the parents want to be IN the photos. Luckily the Egans didn’t care too much about the perfect holiday photos. Regardless I think we got some good ones.
I LOVE these series of the first 3. They would look great enlarged and hung together.

Jacob loves Elvis, he was The King for Halloween. Love that.

This was our last shot, so funny. It was literally THE last photo on my card. We did get ONE of them together, both looking at the camera. We bribed quite a bit and I have to say, it worked.

SO I feel like the days dont have enough hours in them lately. Saying I’m busy is an understatement – and not just with work. With life. With kids. With Christmas being less than 20 days away. WHAT??? We finally figured out Tyler has acid reflux after several days of projectile vomiting. Lovely right? Poor little guy lost 2 pounds. Dont worry I’ve gained them back for him. We had our photos taken recently by the lovely Melanie at Whitebox. She did a faboulous job but boy what a wake up call it was for me and Bren. One word – DIET. Oh wait, two words. DIET AND EXERCISE.
Anyways, between the vomiting, a snow day today (I remember when I prayed for snow days, boy how things have changed) and a few more jobs to get through I feel as though the days are zipping by. I have tons to post here – recent jobs, photos of Conner and Tyler and PHOTO OF THE YEAR! Stay tuned. In the meantime… a few of us by the oh so talented Melanie at Whitebox.

I love this family, especially because their older daughter Cookie is so entertaining. She had us all laughing and boy does she makes me work for her smiles. Harper on the other hand is full of smiles, ear to ear grins every time I turned around. Both of them are very cute.
Thank you for a hilarious afternoon in the park Lamonica family. It was wonderful to see you.

This year we are looking for alternative ways to celebrate Christmas. Dont get me wrong, we all still want a present or two under the tree but I’m looking for different ways of gift giving this year. We’ve decided to concentrate on the boys and maybe play Secret Santa with the adults, or something along those lines. Maybe a theme and a spending cap? No more spending too much on things we all think we need. No more lists of materialistic items we think we want. It’s time to concentrate on what we have.
Will you share your idea? Unique ways of celebrating the holidays? Any traditions?
