A few photos of Conner before school this morning. Every day he turns into more of a little person. I’m so thankful to have more time with him while work is slow and before the baby arrives. Though I cant lie, some days require more patience than others. Brendan and I are entertained by Conner’s every move. His latest obsessions are all Pixar movies, specifically The Incredibles and Toy Story. We recently purchased a Buzz Lightyear and Woody, which he carries everywhere. He turns 2 and 4 months on February 5th. Everywhere we go people comment on how happy and cute he is. I have to say, I agree.

I’ve been a bad blogger lately. Sorry for those who tune in and have been a little disappointed. Things have slowed down a bit as they always do during the dead of winter. I’ve been taking advantage of my free time which has allowed me to be with Conner much more and has granted me free weekends and week nights. I love it. I’ve been reading a lot which I haven’t done enough of since Conner was born. Between working, moving and being a mom I got out of the habit of reading. Pathetic. So I’m making up for loss time and recently completed Eat, Pray Love, The Glass Castle, Testimony and am now in the middle of Beautiful Boy. Out of those four, The Glass Castle was by far my favorite. A few of my high school girl friends and I started a book club. The next book on the list is Middlesex by Jeffrey Eugenides. If you have any suggestions, let me know.
Now onto to some photos.
Here is a shoot from last fall of the adorable Justine and her fiance Brendan. My sister-in-law and several of her friends bought them a gift certificate for their engagement portrait session. They are obviously engaged and getting married this year in Florida. We spent the afternoon soaking in the gorgeous setting at Stone Barns Farm. These pics make me yearn for warmer weather and to see something other than snow on the ground.

As I sit here and watch some of the Inauguration Day coverage, I get chills and teary eyed when I think of what a day in history this is. My father is in Chicago today (on business) and my in-laws are actually at the Inauguration. There has never been so much buzz, emotion, fascination, anticipation and excitement around a United States president elect. I thought about how Obama felt when he woke this morning. Can you imagine the thoughts running through his mind? I’m looking forward to change and have felt the hope rising for our country over the last couple months. Here’s to our future and what’s to come!

I love this family. Cecilia’s mom is so creative. We met last year at our first shoot and I was totally inspired by her gorgeous apartment and creative side. She also has a very resourceful blog, Chic Mommy Finds, that I love. So Cecilia recently turned 2 at Appleseeds and the theme was Safari. I loved it.
We took a couple in Madison Square Park before the festivities began.

I think it’s appropriate to start off the new year with a maternity shoot. Meet the Martinez family, and I say family because their are 3 of them now. Baby Matthew arrived shortly before the end of the year. Alex and Meghan were so easy to work with. You could just see the excitement in their faces and they were willing to do just about anything. Great energy. Great models. We toured Soho early one morning before it got too crowded and found lots of great backdrops. I cant wait to meet Matthew at our next shoot. Until then, have fun with your new bundle of love.
And then just a couple last shots with their other baby.
Happy New Year to everyone. The End.
