It’s Thanksgiving. I LOVE this holiday. Nothing beats being with family and making a feast of some of my favorite food. This year we are headed to NJ to be with Brendan’s family. We’ll start cooking today and finish up tomorrow evening. After filling ourselves with turkey, stuffing, sweet potatoes, cranberries and pies we’ll and head to the movies.

This year I’m thankful for so many things. I feel like sometimes we dont reflect and appreciate what we have until times get tough. I dont have to list all the things that are wrong with our world and economy right now but I will list what I’m thankful for in my life.

A new house.

A beautiful son and another baby on the way!

My best friend, the love of my life, my husband.

Wonderful supportive clients who have kept me very busy this season.

My health.

Wonderful friends from all walks of life.

And my entire family. Especially my brother Chris who has been sober for over a year now. He has accomplished more than we ever expected in this past year and is the definition of inspiring. When I think of him every inch of my body beams with pride. Along his journey Chris has found a wonderful girlfriend, Shaundra, who we love. I will leave you with the photos I took of the two of them in September when I was in LA for Chris’s one year. I will miss you both this Thanksgiving but cant wait be with you, Ben and Dad at Christmas.

Tell me what you’re thankful for this year. Happy Thanksgiving everyone.

This lovely family lives here in Chappaqua. Mom is friends with a friend of mine so that’s how we connected. We tried to make the shoot happen before little Capri arrived but no such luck. I think it was worth the wait. She is beautiful. Thank you!! It was a pleasure meeting you all.

I’m SO looking forward to Thanksgiving and all the goodies that come along with it. I’ll post more tomorrow with our plans and what I’m thankful for this year. Until then, enjoy the photos.

The Lui family is one of my favorites. We had a great shoot in Westport before little Max arrived so I was looking forward to meeting him this time around in Tribeca. He is just as adorable as his older twin brothers Zac and Sam. 3 boys! Mom has her hands full but handles it beautifully. It was great to see you all. Thank you!

peace and love

November 21st, 2008

Today I had my last shoot of the season and things seem to be under control for the holidays. It feels SO good to write that. Enter my big sigh of relief. I finally have a minute to get a manicure, be with Conner and not have work looming in the back of my mind, cook, READ! and spend some alone time with Brendan. Except for one Sunday in December, I dont have to work on a weekend for quite awhile. Brendan and I are going to the Hamptons solo this weekend. I cant wait to sleep in, go to brunch, see a movie and shop around a bit. In regards to my all caps “READ” above, I just finished Eat, Pray, Love by Elizabeth Gilbert and am now onto Testimony by Anita Shreve. A few of my high school friends and I started a book club and Testimony is our first book. Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend. I’m already dreaming of turkey and stuffing.

I will leave you with a few photos of an adorable set of twins I recently photographed in Bedford. I just love their outfits. Peace and Love.

little ladies

November 19th, 2008

The mother of these two gorgeous girls is one of the owners of the salon where I go to get my hair cut and colored, Salon AKS. My colorist and few others from the salon bought her a gift certificate when her 2nd daughter was born. We did the shoot at her beautiful home in Mamaroneck and the girls were just adorable. A big thank you to all those who bought the gift certificate. To Susanna and the little ladies, thank you for a great shoot.

I was excited not only to see these great clients of mine, but to meet their newest addition. A beautiful little girl, Ryan. Love that name. I’ve always liked using boy names for girls. They are hopefully moving to our neighborhood at some point next year. I look forward to seeing you in the burbs and to hopefully shooting out here next year. Great to see you. Thank you.

This family was so cute, happy, in love, laid back, easy and well, I guess it’s safe to say, I liked them. We had a super easy and great shoot. They were wonderful models. So easy to photograph. Mom sent me this email last night:

The photos arrived and we are speechless. They are more fantastic than I ever dreamed. We have so many favorites that I don’t know how I will ever choose. Right now they are laid out on the dining room table and our must-haves take up the entire table. Thank you for capturing our family the way you did. I am sure I am going to need your help in making our final selections.

That made my week. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

I had such a nice day today. First a meeting and shoot in the city with 2 great clients and then came home to spend the afternoon with two close girlfriends from high school. One of which has a son Conner’s age so they had a play date as well. It was so good to see them. Two of us recently moved back to Westchester so it’s nice to be neighbors again. I hope everyone has wonderful weekend, despite all the rain we are going to get tomorrow. It’s my last couple days of shooting (Sunday and Monday) for the holiday season. Wish me luck. Now I’m off to grab a bite with Brendan. Pizza!

brooklyn

November 13th, 2008

I love shooting in Brooklyn. To shoot in a new neighborhood is one challenge I love. Laura and Lars were great and were happy to walk block after block searching for cool backgrounds and settings. What a nice afternoon we had. Thank you!

Now it’s nearing the end of the holiday shooting season. One more weekend and then it’s a nearly a wrap. Wow.  I still have so many sessions to share so if you’re looking for yours, be patient. It will be up soon. I want to send a big thank you to everyone for all your support this year. Considering the state of our economy and the world today I feel very lucky that my phone continued to ring this season. The loyalty from return clients, the referrals and the support from new clients has been overwhelming. Thank you!

And onto Laura and Lars…

little lady

November 11th, 2008

Look at this little lady. Dillon is her name and she was good enough to eat. Mom and dad bid on a mini shoot I donated to an auction and I’m sure glad they did. She was super cute and full of smiles. We had fun putting her in stripes and hats and did a few topless as well. Enjoy the photos.

look at this belly.

Cookie

November 10th, 2008

was very serious at the beginning of our shoot but she livened up towards the end, with the help of some raisins. Mom was a little confused as to where her smiles were. She emailed me after our shoot to tell me she had a fever, so that explained it. Poor thing. Regardless I think we got some great shots and it was so good to see you 3. Cookie won the end of year contest last year so she is quite the star.

I hope everyone had a great weekend. I had a day of rained out shoots on Saturday and then felt kinda crappy thanks to my flu shot. Dont know why I decided that was a good idea. Oh well, one more weekend of shooting before the holidays. It has been a very busy season. A big thanks to everyone!! Now onto the photos of Cookie.
