the rye vehicle fair
September 30th, 2008
The Rye Vehicle Fair was this past weekend and luckily I was asked to photograph it, thanks to one of my wonderful clients Elizabeth. It’s an event in Rye to benefit their library, The Free Reading Room. The entire community comes together and residents are invited to come and explore their favorite vehicles, climb the rock wall, have some Q barbeque and listen to the local band, Connect 4. It was a great day, even if it did rain a bit. A selection of these photos will be displayed at the Rye Library and are for sale through the Reading Room’s site as well as through me. Stop by to see the show and let me know if you need help purchasing a print. Sit back and enjoy, I’ve posted quite a few.
blink

So I’m all done with my Hamptons sessions and will posting the last few here this week. Wow, I feel like I blinked and it’s October. I can’t believe it. I’ve been so busy proofing and posting jobs I haven’t got to post about some personal stuff like Conner’s first day of school and what a little boy he is now. It’s incredible. He turns 2 this weekend – October 5th! I also have a big post planned about my trip to LA and how wonderful my brother Chris is doing. There is so much going on but it’s all good, right? Now off to work on the photos from the Rye Vehicle Fair I photographed this past weekend. Be on the look out, lots of good stuff coming your way.
And here is the beautiful Steck family. We meet every year on the shores of the Atlantic. I love to see the differences and growth in the kids with each shoot. This was round number 3. It was great to see you and play at Flying Point. Thanks guys!
i love when this happens
friends

I can’t say enough good things about this amazing family. They have been so good to me over the years and I feel honored to photograph them every time we get together for a shoot (which luckily, is pretty often : ). Mom was one of my first clients when I started this business several years ago and since we have become friends. She is a beautiful person inside and out and truly knows the meaning of loyalty. As always, thank you for everything.
It was a pretty humid day so we focused on the kids this time. Towards the end of the shoot we decided to go for a dip. Here are a few of my favorites.

The beat goes on. Only 3 more Hampton shoots to get through! This is a lovely family I photographed on Peters Pond Beach. We had a great time snapping a few beach side. Then we headed to the house for a wardrobe change and even caught a couple with both grandmothers. It was a pleasure to meet and chat with you Kim! Thank you.
i love these…
i love when this happens, crystal clear blue eyes

I love this beautiful family. Their 3 little ones are super cute. I could have photographed little Carolina all day. She arrived several months ago and has such a sense of calm while the older two run circles around her, literally. We played duck duck goose and then had some ice cream. It was a great shoot just hanging in their backyard out east. I look forward to seeing you this fall in Summit. Thank you!
some tickling
and then a little duck duck goose
i love this series on the bench

I’m back from LA (which I’ll write more about later) and am trying to pick up where I left off. Conner started school this week, which I have to post about soon as well. Still working on the summer Hampton shoots. I’m getting there! Here are a few photos of two so very cute twins on the beach. I loved how mom dressed them, in adorable sarongs and cute little dresses. Makes we want to have a little girl!
I’m off
September 12th, 2008
to enjoy the weekend. We are entertaining old friends tomorrow night. Two of my best friends from high school and their hubbies are coming for dinner. It will be one of the first dinner parties we’ve held in our new house. Wish me luck. Also planning a trip to Stew Leonards and I think heading to shop around a little in Greenwich on Sunday.
I’m heading in to spend time with Conner and to make chicken soup (because I’ve had a cold). It’s my favorite time of the day. Before Conner goes to bed we read books and just hang until Brendan walks through the door. Then he goes bonkers. Once he retires I’m pouring myself a large glass of vino and reading my stack of magazines that have accumulated. My pat on the back for processing 6 jobs this week.
Stay dry!
curls + big blue eyes + pink lips = yum

A few more before the weekend of Josh who was such a little ham in front of the camera. He has 3 cousins who I’ve photographed a few times before so I was glad I got the chance to snap a few of him this time. Look at this smile, who can resist? It was great to see you all on the shores of Atlantic this summer. Thank you.
and then we went to the beach. i love this one.
boys
September 11th, 2008
These two were full of energy. Typical boys who had no interest in sitting still. We managed to get some good shots though. I love the pics in their motorized John Deere. The youngest giggled away the entire time his older brother drove him around. Thank you for a lovely evening and I hope to see you again soon.
naturals
September 9th, 2008
When you ride to the beach with mom in a convertible and have great conversation, you know it’s going to be a good shoot. We’ve met before but it has been a couple years since our first shoot. The Mahinis had great energy and were very laid back. I felt comfortable with them from the moment I walked in the door. To top it off, they were such naturals in front of the camera. There are some shoots where you forget you’re working, this was one of them. It was an honor not only to photograph them but to take a few of the grandparents (who were visiting from Iran) before we left the house. Thanks so much for a beautiful evening on the beach, with amazing light by the way. Hope to see you soon.
