the last shoot from the summer
September 28th, 2007
The Wolf family. My last summer shoot over in Westhampton. A beautiful family, some of which are from my hometown, Houston. I always love when I meet people from Houston, makes me remember old times and want to go visit. People only understand Houston if you are from there. The food, the hot humid summers, the easy vibe, but most of all it’s the people that I love and miss. Everyone is so warm and friendly and the Wolf’s were no different. Thank you Wolf family. I enjoyed the morning we spent together in your beautiful yard. Hope to see you again soon.

our LA fam
September 27th, 2007
We recently went to California to see my dad, his wife Nancy and my brother-in-law Ryan. My brother Ben, Uncle Ben, joined us over the weekend and we had a relaxing time in sunny LA. My father just bought a new house less than a block from the beach in Venice and we settled in nicely. One of my favorite parts of our trip was the morning. We would get up, walk to the Rose Cafe, pick up breakfast and then head over at one of the many playgrounds on the beach.
My dad used to live here in NYC so to say the least, I miss him. It was great to spend several days with him and Conner. Our last night was spent at a Piccolo, a tiny but very good Italian restaurant on the beach. Towards the end of the evening Conner was getting restless so my dad took over. He put his head on grandpa’s shoulder and just lied there peacefully throughout our dessert. There is nothing more amazing than to see your dad holding your son. I didn’t have my camera with me, but there is a picture in my mind that will stay with me forever. I get teary when I think of that moment. A memory, a snapshot, that I will keep in the front of my mind, to tie me over until we get together again. Thankfully dad comes to town often.
We also saw Uncle Ryan, who also recently moved to LA. I know, their dropping like flies. We hadn’t seen him since he left in March so we had a lot of catching up to do. When the visit came to an end we had an emotional good bye. We’ll be back soon. Maybe for good one day. ; )
the endless summer

Just 2 more shoots from the summer, the Boshart Family being one of them. Such a gorgeous fam. Thanks Emily for a beautiful evening on the beach. The light was perfect. I hope all is going well back at school (mom’s a school teacher). I love teachers. Teaching was one of the many professions I considered before I settled on this. I knew it had to be something children related. Anyways, enjoy the preview and I’ll be in touch soon.

We’re going to see my Dad, Nancy (his wife) and my brother in law, Ryan in CA tomorrow, Wednesday. I’ll return on Sunday evening, hopefully with a few pictures to share. My dad and Nancy just moved into a new house on the beach. Can’t wait to see it. You can email me if you need me. Otherwise, Conner says, “Surf’s up!”
these girls

are with out a doubt, the cutest i know. I met their mom Lisa, of Cocoa Crayon, over 3 years ago when I called to place an order from her amazing website. Check out her adorable new line of charms featured in O Magazine this month. Anyways, we got to talking and a few weeks later I found myself photographing her beautiful family in Central Park. It is now a yearly routine of ours. I TRULY look forward to our shoot every year. A couple weeks beforehand Lisa and I plan it out; the location, the wardrobes, etc. and (I think) the photos get better each time. This year we decided to head down to the Meatpacking District because we needed a change of scenery. When I saw them stumble out of the taxi I got so excited. Look at the girls’ outfits, they looked picture perfect! I need Lisa to be my stylist and make banana bread for me on a consistent basis, two things she is VERY good at.
twins
September 18th, 2007
This was a great shoot with the Lui family. One of my last ones out East (only 2 more to process!). They have fraternal twin boys, and as most twins are, they are opposites. One was shy and the other was outgoing. I always have such admiration for families with twins. One is hard, I can’t imagine handling two. And no, I didn’t get a ticket at the beach. As we were finishing up, we saw the cop giving out tickets and he was one car away from mine. Our goodbye was a little abrupt but I got out of there just in time. It was a pleasure to meet you. Enjoy your Fall and we will be in touch!

liked to have fun and had great energy. We ran around on the beach and then headed to the house to dance to some music out back and play in the sprinklers. It was great to meet you all this summer and I hope to see you out East again. Thank You!

Last time I photographed Dylan he was not in the best of spirits but I think we made up for that this time around. We had a nice afternoon together over in Bridge. Thanks Emily. It was great to see you again and to see how much Dylan has grown. I loved capturing the closeness between the two of you. Hope you had a nice time getting ice cream. Dylan and I discovered we share our favorite ice cream flavor, Vanilla!

Was the word that came to mind when this family piled out of their car at the Georgica Beach parking lot. Three amazing boys and (even though you can’t tell!) one more baby is on the way. Betty is pregnant and looks fab. What a gorgeous evening, the perfect way to spend their last night out east. Afterwards they were heading back to NYC… I can’t wait until our shoot this Saturday. Betty and I are getting together to do a little prego shoot. Feel good. See you soon.
