my little brother ben
August 22nd, 2007
who is not so little anymore, is 15, going on 50. At times I think he is too smart for his own good. I have to remind him to relax, have fun and to focus on normal 15 year old things. It’s a little scary. Or maybe because he is so much smarter than me, it just scares ME. This summer Ben went to France to study well, French, through Oxford. I think back to how I was spending my summers at his age and ummmm, it didn’t involve going overseas. What it did involve was an internship in the city and lots of “social” activities with my friends. I think drinking beer and toilet papering houses were our forms of entertainment.
When I grow up, and when my children grow up, we want to be like Ben. I’m so proud of him and the man (ahhhhhhh!) he is is becoming. Not only is he super smart but he has a huge heart and is obviously pretty darn mature. To my not so little brother Ben — remember it’s ok to have fun and more importantly remember how much, I.LOVE.YOU.
a beautiful dinner party
August 17th, 2007
I was recently asked by Sofia Crokos to photograph a beautiful dinner party in East Hampton. It was a typical warm summer evening but the guests didn’t mind. The party was held in a barn behind the Daniels’ home. It was gorgeous. Thank you Sofia and thank you Daniels Family. It was a pleasure to work with and meet you all.
Milo, Act 2
August 16th, 2007
This was my second chance to photograph Milo and I have to say, he has some of the best expressions. Even though it was a warm, humid and very bright morning, I dont think it shows here. The shades came in handy and Milo seems to agree. I just realized the first time we shot in Central Park, it was very hot as well. Have a great summer and I hope to photograph you all again, maybe in one of the cooler seasons. Thank You.
“No Cheese”
August 15th, 2007
My friend Diana bought a gift certificate for the first birthday of these two. I’ve never photographed fraternal twins so I was pretty excited. I find twins fascinating, especially these two who are exact opposites. One blonde hair, blue eyes and the other brunette, brown eyes. They took awhile to warm up to the fact that I was there to take their pictures. I loved it, they kept saying, “No cheese,” whenever I started snapping away. After a few snacks and visiting the ducks, they opened up. Mom has one more on the way. All the best Sharon. Hope you are feeling good and I look forward to hopefully photographing your baby girl when she arrives. Yes, another girl which makes 3 girls. Crazy.

A Dark Sky
August 15th, 2007
This shoot took place on an overcast morning and the sky was pretty cool. Lots of dark clouds over at Scott Cameron Beach with the O’Malleys. The feeling was very calm and peaceful. Thank you for a great shoot. I wish you all the best with your newest addition and look forward to hearing if it’s a girl or a boy. Enjoy the rest of your summer.
good friends
August 8th, 2007
This past weekend good friends came to visit us on the beach. Mike and Farah. They have two children, we have one. It was a busy weekend. It’s been awhile since we all hung out. They recently moved from the city to NJ so we had a lot of catching up to do. There were ALOT of laughs. Bren and Mike are quite the comedians and with 3 kids, there was no shortage of material. The first picture pretty much sums up the weekend.
On Sunday it was sad to see them go. We both emailed afterwards wishing we lived closer. See you all in September. Can’t wait to stay at the new house! Love you all.
one happy girl
August 8th, 2007
Lizzie is one happy girl. She ran around the entire time and while wearing that big grin of hers. It was a great summer shoot in Central Park. So nice to meet you all. Thanks Kim!
surfboards and blankets
August 2nd, 2007
I’ve photographer Tucker quite a few times. This time around he showed me his surfboard and once he grew tired of having his picture taken he brought out his blanket. Mom, Toby, is due any day now with her second boy. I have to say, I am partial to little boys. Next time we meet, hopefully it will be in CT with your newest addition. Good luck with your move and delivery, and enjoy the rest of your summer.
